my idea would be very similar to what ive shown zusuk and ornir so far.
1.Roleplay earns roleplay points (rpp), and features for the ships can be purchased with rpp:
ships start with a lower number of rooms than their max, can spend rpp to buy additional rooms
the best ballistae, cannons, hull strength, missiles, cargo space, etc should be purchasable through rpp only, surpassing those purchasable with coins.
rpp spent to buy lockable doors
rpp spent to change the layout of a ship2.Airships purchasable with coins, of various sizes ranging from 1-room ships to say…20-rooms+ ships or something.
3.Rooms in a ship are customizable by the owner, with room names and room descriptions created by airship’s owner.
4.Outside appearance of ship (maybe accessed by anyone by “look (ship name)” or something similar are customizable as far as ship’s name, ships visible armament, material, description (created by the ship’s owner) and whatnot.
5.Ship’s abilities stat-wise…such as:
sails made from material X influence ship’s speed
rudder type affects maneuverability
ballast type influences distances possible and maybe altitude as well
cannon/ballistae types influence accuracy/distance in ship-to-ship combat
missile type influences damage range
hull strength variations
magical shielding of some kind of various strengths (possible to make it a permanent spell only a certain class can cast)
cargo areas of varying sizes (can institute a system where you can transport goods from one place to another for income, bigger cargoes net you bigger profits)6. opens up docking areas and faster travel to various areas, along with sky battles, sky areas etc
7. smaller boats should be able to be docked to the bigger ships, tucked on the decks or whatever.
8. some way to hire npc guards who would only allow entry to those in your guild/clan, and could even perform functions on the ship (i.e. have to hire a cannoneer or something for each cannon, or man it yourself…and have the skill necessary to do so etc)
9 perhaps even a crafting system for the components that make a ship. i.e. a shipwright for the hull, smith for the cannons, or something similar. can be as complicated as you folks like. 🙂

haha the thought had crossed my mind. think of air battles, boarding parties haha! great thing is, something like this could open up a lot. several classes/skills come to mind, areas, things to build towards, etc. my only thing is, something like this should take some effort, so i wouldnt want it to go cheaply. 😉

Hmm I never though of airships, I thought more of seaships 😛
Would definitely add to the lore and stuff 😛
