The Dragon Wars started after the second Cataclysm. They were created to be the protectors of the Avatars realms against any who would dare attempt to attack them. Although after the second Cataclysm the dragons noticed that the Avatars over their long existence were starting to lose their powers and that perhaps their connection to the Titans were weakening. A great meeting was called and the Dragons met to discuss the fate of the world and the fate of the Avatars. It was decided that the dragons would rebel against their creators and take their power for themselves and replace the Avatars as the controllers of the world. Two Dragons did not join sides with the other dragons, Urishel the Great White Dragon and Guardian to the Avatar of Prophecy, and Sephelium the Guardian to the Avatar of Life.
The War dragged on and the Dragons could not prevail over the Avatars. The Dragons during the war learned how the Avatars kept and gained power. It was the Cataclysms that caused people to begin praying to the Titans which strengthened the Titans connection to the world thus making the Avatars more powerful. Having betrayed their masters there was no return for the Dragons so they retreated into the far corners of the world and wait for people to lose faith again and weaken the power of the Avatars so that they may attack again and this time overtake their former masters.
