      Courtesy of Isis:

Long previous to the first lifting of quills by Elven keepers of history and lore, and before man walked the earth to witness the infancy of the stars and moons above, there were and forever will remain the Fae. The Fae are distinctive in that they are ageless and were created in a plane closer to the Titans than the Noble races. They are uniquely at one with the untainted forces of all things natural—as such, they are devout followers of Taure Fea and Duin-naithe.

Not falling prey to the passage of time has enabled them to learn and develop far beyond the Noble races. As a result of their immortality and their seemingly limitless dedication, they are the matchless masters of magic and illusion.

Though appearing mostly human, they stand taller and are distinguishable by a faint glow that lends towards the ethereal. This characteristic has given rise to the name of the spell ‘faerie fire’, a pale recreation of the Fae’s signature aura.

The Fae largely remain secluded on their own plane, which is said to be more colorful, more vibrant, more meaningful and more of everything in comparison to the mortal realms. They generally appear only for short times among mortals and typically for reasons all their own. As a whole they appear unwilling to take a hand in the lasting affairs of others beyond their imprint upon legend and myth through the occasional faerie tale.
