What is Lore?
Lore is the elements of the game that help flesh out the world of the game, including intangible storylines, etc. that are not a coded part of the game. They help provide some context for those who enjoy that aspect of gaming. Players may also choose to ignore the lore completely and play Luminari a simple hack ‘n’ slash if that is what they prefer.
In order to provide the ‘DnD Experience’ as completely as possible, the lore should be constructed in a way that immortals and players alike can use it in their roleplay.
But all I want to do is kill stuff and get powerful! Why should I care?
You don’t have to. However, certain aspects of the game (quests, some pk clans, etc.) will have a basis in the lore of the world of Luminari. For this reason the lore will be made available to players once it is in its final form. Additionally, with areas that have themes firmly based in the approved lore, secrets may be more easily seen by those with a passing knowledge of the history and cultures of Luminari.
Ok, I’m convinced. Where can I find this ‘approved lore’?
The lore, when approved, will be placed in a sticky thread in this forum, The Official Lore Thread. All of the lore in that thread is considered canon.
But said this was the lore, and it is not in that thread!
As we are developing storylines and lore on a continuous basis, there are many threads that are not completely tied. Regardless, only the lore in the official thread is considered canon.
I have an idea! How do I contribute?
If you would like to contribute lore, just post a message in this forum with a descriptive title. It might help if you include LORE SUBMISSION: in the title. Once your submission is posted, we can discuss it and potentially include it in the official lore.

Stop that now. Try to be civil, and provide constructive criticism. If you do not agree with the basic idea of a submission, please state that and give reasons why.
